Keep The First 48 Out of St. Louis

I wrote a letter to Chief Dotson asking him not to allow "The First 48" to shadow St. Louis detectives. Add your name and tell him that our community needs solutions, not more pain.

Dear Chief Dotson,

Everyone in our city knows there is a problem: the homicide rate is too high, and too many murders go unsolved.

We need to find a solution. We need to provide our police with more resources. We need to do away with the districts and to go back to the old way of patrolling. We need to refocus on the fundamentals of solving and preventing crimes, while reducing distractions for our brave officers in the field.

A television series about the problem is not a solution - it only magnifies the pain.

We ask you, respectfully, to please keep "The First 48" out of our city.

Please don’t exploit the issue of homicide in St. Louis. This will only have negative repercussions on our city and our community.

We should be focusing on closing many murder cases and reducing crime in St. Louis City.

Sounds like exploitive voyeurism, Chief Dotson. Please make sure that’s not the case.
